DESCRIPTION:Commemorate this sacred and celebratory occasion in the African American Garden. The Juneteenth holiday recognizes the end of slavery in the United States in 1865. \nThe day will feature educational and fun games for kids\, ritual re-enactments\, the Grand March\, music\, food\, dance and performances by talent show competition winners. \nParking can be found at the Stonebrook/White School on East Boulevard and at the Willson School on Ansel Road. There’s also street parking on East Boulevard. \n

DESCRIPTION:WKYC Studios and Random Acts of Kindness Everywhere (RAKE) are teaming up for a summertime spruce-up of the Cleveland Cultural Gardens in Rockefeller Park on the city’s east side. \nThe community clean-up will take place on Saturday\, June 22\, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.\nVolunteers are welcome! Help the Cultural Gardens prepare for its summer activities\, including the World On Stage concert series\,  events celebrating the Pan American Games happening in Cleveland\, and One World Day.  Let’s pitch in by helping to clean up this beautiful chain of gardens reflecting Cleveland’s many cultures. \nGardening supplies will be provided. Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own gardening gloves and water. Meet at the Centennial Peace Plaza\, the amphitheater in the center of the Gardens\, at 1051 Martin Luther King Blvd\, across from St. Casimir’s Way. You can park on the west side of MLK\, or on East Boulevard. \nSign up today to volunteer at this event.  \nPlease note that the clean-up will still proceed if there is light rain\, but it will be cancelled in the event of heavy rain or lightning/thunder.
